Comment: To protect complainants and informants who act in good faith, the agency will conceal names, addresses and other identifying information. Their information is confidential and accessible only to staff responsible for investigating the complaint. Where the agency considers that a complainant may face harm or a safety risk, it will establish measures to protect whistleblowers, complainants, witnesses and people providing information during fact-finding from hardship, danger or unfair treatment arising from reporting, giving evidence or providing information to the agency.
 
Staff who receive information in the course of handling a complaint must keep the complaint, supporting documents and information about the complainant or informant confidential. They must not disclose it to anyone whose duties are unrelated, except where disclosure is required by law.
