Participated in a briefing meeting on the preparation of a strategic plan to turn forests towards participatory sustainable development.

At the Conference Hall in honor of His Majesty 80 years of age, Mae Na Chon Subdistrict Administrative Organization President Sambun Payao has appointed Mr. Suvannat Hengnattha, a qualified agricultural expert to attend the briefing on the preparation of the strategic plan for forest restoration towards participatory sustainable development in Mae Chaem District Chiang Mai Province, with Mr. Thacpol Peng Udom, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, as the honorary chairperson and a special speech on "The importance of sustainable development in addressing the problem of forest fires, smog and fine particulate matter (pm2.5) in Chiang Mai Province"
The workshop was also organized by the Mae Chaem District, which provided information on the context, socio-geographical situation, problems and needs in Mae Chaem District. The 16th Chiang Mai Conservation Area Management Office (CCMA) presented the directions for addressing the problem of land and development of quality of life in the protected forest area. The Forest Resources Management Office No. 1 (Chiang Mai) presented the changes in the context, housing rights and land according to the National Land Policy Commission (NLPC) policy. The Chiang Mai Province Office explained the procedures and processes for integrating the preparation of a strategic plan to turn the forest into a sustainable participatory development.
The second panel, "Best practices/examples of development", discussed "Highland water resources development" by the Department of Water Resources; "Development of traffic and road networks" by Chiang Mai Rural Highways; "Development and access to electricity" by the District 1 Regional Electricity Corporation (North); "Restructuring of highland agriculture" by the Institute for Research and Development of Highlands (Public Company); "Sustainable housing development" by the Institute for Community Organization Development (POC); "Bamboo and Community Forest" by the Foundation for Sustainable Development (North); "Supporting employment change through the promotion of high-value crops (coffee) as a substitute for monoculture throughout the supply chain" by the Jerin Food Foundation.
The meeting also discussed the vision for Mae Chaem District development, and agreed to conduct a field trip to all 106 villages and 7 villages of Mae Chaem District to complete the strategic plan within 90 days in order to integrate the coordination of plans at the provincial level.
