The project is to train local government officials in the use of drones for forest fire prevention and control.

On August 19-20, 2567, Mr. Sambun Payaew, Governor of Mae Na Chon Subdistrict Administrative Organization, entrusted Mr. Suvanat Huatnaeng, a qualified agricultural scientist, to participate in the training program for the training of Mae Na Chon Subdistrict officials on drones for forest fire prevention and control for clean air at the Queen Sirikit Conference and Training Hall, 5th floor, in honour of His Majesty’s Building, Mae Jo University, Santari Chiang Mai Province. Mr. Niratneephankhautsavapor, Governor of Chiang Mai Province, entrusted Mr. Thacpol Phag Udom, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, to chair the opening ceremony of the drone training program for forest fire prevention and control with the participation of officers who are currently performing forest fire prevention and control duties and transferred Mae Na Chon Subdistrict officials. The training was organized by the Office for Local Government Promotion (OLGP) in collaboration with Chiang Mai Municipality. The training was aimed at providing theoretical and practical knowledge to forest fire prevention and control officers, as well as local authorities who have been transferred to forest fire prevention and control tasks under the Decentralization Commission's order. The project was launched by Mr. Thacpol Phasaud, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, who also gave a special lecture on "Moving forward the forest fire prevention and control mission in Chiang Mai Province" and emphasized the importance of using technology, research and innovation to develop the forest fire prevention and control capacity in the area so that Chiang Mai people can continue to breathe clean air.
